Projects

UTQC projects give students the opportunity to apply quantum computing concepts to real-world problems and collaborate with researchers, organizations, and industry.

Current Projects

Quantum Pacman

Quantum PacMan Challange

In collaboration with the University of Toronto Robotics Association, this design project is focused on creating a quantum-based algorithm that can effectively play the popular arcade game PacMan. By encoding the game state into a Hamiltonian state, we can pick optimal player paths using a quantum walk approach. Preprint coming soon.

Presenting Quantum Project at Bahen

NV-diamond Sensing

Supported by the SPIE Outreach Grant under the NAQC Photonics Foundry alongside Quantum Village, this project provided students with hands-on experience designing and building a quantum sensor. By using Nitrogen-Vacancy centers in diamonds, these devices are able to detect microscale magnetic fields. Paper under review.
